Ivan Pavlov, the renowned Russian scientist best known for his study of conditioned reflex could appreciate the effect this time of year has on Motorsport enthusiasts. It’s instinctual for those who are “connected” to the sport, almost to the point of being spiritual. Test an enthusiast and see for yourself. There are those who can rattle off the entire racing schedule for just about every major racing series. There are those who found themselves at Sebring this past weekend- drawn to that holy grail of racing like a Polar Bear on the trail of fresh seal meant. If you were there, you would notice their excitement elevate as the track slowly transformed before their eyes. It was small pieces of stimulation at first- a peek into the paddocks, a decal on the side of a trailer and the smell of high octane fuel everywhere. Then the sensation heightened as an unending buffet of mechanical delights paraded in rapid succession. Eventually there came a point where the enthusiasts could barely contain themselves. They knew (due to conditioning of a higher order), that in the last seconds of a race (the main course- as it was), legends were made. The Orlando Automotive Club is all about embracing the racing spirit – so it should come as no surprise that they were at Sebring last weekend and would relish the opportunity to share their experience with each and every one of you at the upcoming Cars and Café meet.
Community Service
By now, the word about the Orlando Automotive Club’s commitment to charity is spreading but just to emphasize the point, we would like to remind everyone that:
• Recurring canned food drives & special initiatives meant to shed light on worthy causes like natural disasters and help for needy children are a staple of the club and our Cars and Café meet. We are officially partnered with the Second Harvest Food Bank of Orlando and the majority of our collected cans contribute to the great work they do in our community.
New Sponsors
We are proud of our sponsors and are always looking for new and enthusiastic organizations to join our already exceptional group. These sponsors are a special group of business leaders who serve the incredibly important function of providing hundreds of dollars in raffle prizes for you, the motorsport enthusiast. However, if you have not been to one of our meets and have not experienced our raffle, you need to know that the key to winning a prize is giving back! In specific, for each can that you bring to the meet, you get one extra raffle ticket so do the math and give back!
Please remember that this month’s meet is on March 26th at The Route 46 Entertainment District.. We look forward to seeing each of you at what promises to be an awesome meet.
