Smoked my first Nub yesterday, the Maduro. Not a bad stick, but the wrapper cracked up on me like no other stick I have smoked. Cubao today, pretty nice thus far.

I'm always skeptical when I hear about a new highly-rated NC cigar that is supposed to have a Cubanesque profile. But the Quesada Espana is the real deal.

These cigars were made solely for the Spanish market, but limited quantities have made their way into the US and are available at a few retailers.

I smoked the corona ROTT today and I swore that I was smoking a Bolivar Corona Extra, but with even more spiceyness and richer tobacco. After the first 1/3, the spiceyness remained and then the cigar turned creamy as well. A touch past the first half and the cigar developed a wonderful thick vegetal quality, similar to a H. Upmann Mag 46.

I'm surprised to have found a Dominican cigar with this much complexity, spice and richness. Definitely pick up a box if you can find them. These guys get some in from time to time, but you gotta get on the waiting list for them:

I just enjoyed a Bolivar Royal Coronas, from a small shipment that arrived yesterday. I treated myself to a small box of 10, and I'm glad that I did. Thanks again for the site referral Ubc! I will try to age these, and enjoy them on special occasions.

By the way, the V cut is by far my favorite new cut! Bought a sweet xikar and just love it! If the draw is too tight an X is great too!
