My mom new she had those bottles, but had no idea they were worth anything. I recognized the Roth name, not to mention a bottle priced at $49 in '59 is worth nearly $400 in today's dollars not accounting for appreciation.

i would just drink them.
the history is questionable (temperature variations) so a serious buyer would probably knock the price down considerably to account for this risk. the provenance too does raise a question mark in a market full of fakes - ie, "barn find" - wines that can be accounted for throughout their life fetch top dollar.
