Jamiroquai's Jay Kay Talks about his Porsche 911 2.7 RS

At the 40 years of the 'RS' gathering, Gordon Roberston chats it up with Jamiraquai's Jay Kay about his love of Porsche's, and his recently acquired special 911 2.7 RS that he brought to the Classics at the Castle.

With 210 horsepower and 975 kg weight, the 2.7 RS was the fastest and most focused Porsche for the road of its time. As Jay Kay notes this is just one of a few cars from 40 years ago that just works, something you could drive to Stuttgart and back with no troubles at all.

Held in the grounds of Hedingham Castle, Classics at the Castle is a very special Porsche car show held annually. This year marks 40 years of the 'RS' and to celebrate a wonderful collection of iconic 911 RS models were gathered together.

Yes, they said Aubergine in the very beginning. Man, those vents next to the turn signals and the high ducktail are perfection.

Notice that this is not the aubergine RS Touring Jay Kay has had for a long time, but an RS Lightweight that he apparently recently purchased. Nice! Did he repaint it to match the first car, or was he able to find a second RS 73 in aubergine??
