Vintage Porsche Help

Hi guys...

Well long story short, Spotted a real old ran down porsche belived to be a 356 .

I know the registration but not sure on the model A B or C.

Is there any way I can find this out by the number plate?

The car Is a UK car.. I would like to find the info out If possible before I go knock on this old guys door and make an offer. I know its a 1.6 if that means anything - The UK plate is SML12F

Worked at a house today and the car was full of rust, been sitting there for many many years and had seen better dies!

would be nice to have a little project

It may be a 1967 model... which then makes it NOT a 356.

I probably should of taken some photos :/


EDIT:

The car however did had this bonnet off the 356..
its one of the key features I remember of the car:

I have found this out :
Date of First Registration 01 08 1967
Year of Manufacture Not Available


Sorry for the 3 posts on the run, IT wont let up edit with new info I have found :S

I would be happy to help you with this, but I am not sure how that is going to be possible without some sort of pictures to start from.

Need more information, the dvla don't give much. Photo would be good.
