Hard to tell on the app, but is that a torx bolt? Looks similar to the torx (45?) on my old b5 a4 steering wheel

I have no idea. This is my first attempt at being a "mechanic."

Gotta start somewhere.....so I'll start on my 38 year old Porsche lol.

Sean put a propane torch on it in short intervals. Should work...

Steering wheels on 997's (996's as well?) are held in by a centerbolt that can be removed with a 12-point multitool or a 6 pt T-55 torx bit. I don't see any ridges in the center of that bolt, but if there are, you may want to try a few of the larger torx bits.

No....that's fine. I would end up blowing something up. I'm going to try a breaker bar...and then an impact wrench.

Besides, there is rubber all around it, along with wires.

I'm pretty sure what you need to do is insert a large sized torx bit into the center and turn it really hard. That should get your nut off.

That's the goal. If it still doesn't get off I am going to try a power tool.

Impact wrench. You will laugh at how easy it is with it.

WD40 it first just in case, so that it doesn't shatter into a million pieces.
