Oh how I love the 917s. Almost as much as the sleaker but not nearly as fast 908s.

The 908s are good, but the 917 takes it to Eleven!

Porsche didn't really have a grasp on aerodynamic properties before the 917 (and even the early 917s were very aero unstable). The 908 was a significant step down in aero design, chassis design, and engine power (obviously, I know a 4.9 liter 12 is going to perform better than a 3 liter 8, but the specific output of the 917 is astonishing.)
