re:1989 Speedster

Hello All,
Long time lurker here. A friend of mine purchased a 1989 speedster via Ebay and was asking me if I could use my internet 'sources' for confirmation, that it is indeed a Speedster. The irony is, he already bought it.
Anyway, he has all the paperwork, carfax etc., but doesn't quite understand the VIN codes. Anybody on here have any thoughts? Any info, contacts etc., would be appreciated. He is going to enjoy this car regardless but would like to make sure he has all the stones unturned as he frequently changes his cars out. Thanks a ton.

I found some numbers for Vin Codes on RENN list but not sure if it is inclusive.

Hey Brad - option code 503 states 'Cabrio Variant' but no such thing is called out on his Trim Codes. Are you familiar with this?

That looks legit to me.

Of course someone could've gone through the trouble of converting a turbo-look cab into a Speedster by buying all the OEM parts a long time ago when they were available, but that is highly doubtful.

This car is actually a 1981 Targa. I will give him $14k for it right now.

I compared it to the various vins on other 911 Speedsters from this time period, and everything looks about right to me. I'm 99.999% sure it's all legitimate.

WP0EB0914KS173622

WP0= Porsche
EB091= Verifies that this IS an actual Speedster
4= Verification, proves it's not a fake VIN (hard to explain)
K= Indicates it was built in 1989
S= manufactured in Stuttgart
173622= The sequence of which it was produced

I hope I helped.
