Cars without legal US VINs are typically displayed as being from "1980" or older because that circumvents eBay's VIN filter I think.

^Where did 1980 come from?

I still get a kick out of this picture of me from 1986 when I was 12 standing next to the first 959's to hit US soil. Dork.

I can't say for certain but I think that was the last year before VINs became standardized.

That's an awesome photo by the way! The hair stands up on the back of my neck when I see them now, but I can only imagine how excited you must've been to stand next to THE supercar of its time. Very cool.

I had the Tamiya 1"24 F40 and 959 models on my desk as my inspiration to study hard.

Never did get that F40 or the 959, but Turbo and GT2 aint too shabby I suppose.

Thanks, a little embarrassing but oh well. I've had the Porsche affliction for quite some time now.

yea that seems high, i saw one in scm go for 385 but it was exceptional, either way new gt2 makes you wonder why you would want one of these other then to put in a bubble and look at it
