The unofficial 964 thread

So I found a 964 I'm interested in. Just about how complicated are these to live with? I was at the dealership today and they actually suggested a 930 over a 964 for what I'm doing (cross Euro roadtrip) because they are the "most fragile 911 version". My BS radar went on and I thought I should just check with you guys first ...

Here are some pics;

Hi Jox

The car you are looking at looks great, but with anything that has lead a potentially hard life it is worth getting it well checked before purchasing it. Look for the usual signs of wear and tear on suspension components, bushes, brakes etc and it might be worth getting the engine pressure tested if its not been well maintained.

Most items are fairly easy to do, testomy to that is my 1992 RS, I do most things now myself and there is nothing too complicated to worry about.

Usual rules apply, buyer beware, but if its a good example they are fantastic.

The last of the true great aircooled 911's in mho...

Have fun!

Many thanks Ollie! Very helpful! I'm sure I'll have more questions down the road as I've almost decided on a 964. Totally agree how they're the last of the great ones.

Funny you posted first, as your Flickr photos pretty much inspired me to start looking for 964s in the first place! Yours look spectacular!

The pictures screams country home, not dealership. Which dealership are we talking about?
Remember that I suggested the 930, I still think that it'd be a good choice.

He's located on some farm in Hagfors so I'm trying to arrange a Porsche Center Karlstad meet some time next week. He seems like a pretty knowledgable seller though - he's also unloading a pretty serious 3.6 TT all RUFed out.

I like the 964s better than the 930s asthetically, but I am not ruling any of them out. (or 993s for that matter)

The best car experience I've had is in a 964

It kept up very good against the others.
The car you found looks awesome, it would surely be a great roadtrip cruiser.
