I need to get fairly familiar with Porsches of the past and present. Any recommendations on what sites have the most accurate and thourough information?

Thanks.

I'm curious how to tell the difference between years and models. For example, one of my areas of expertise is Lamborghini. I can tell years and models apart by lights, wheels, body changes, etc. Is there a resource online that shows those for various Porsches? Sort of like a cheat sheet. Thanks.

TS?

I guess you want it to be pretty meticulous ... you can most likely already tell a 964 from a 993.

Sounds really lame ... but wiki is actually quite helpful. Supercars.net also has a very complete database.

Get ready for a mental workout if you start getting into the first generations of 911s. It is ridiculous, completely overwhelming.

there is a great book, called The Porsche Red Book, that you should pick up. IIRC less than $15 and it goes over 911's 65 to the 997.1 generation. there are a few other good "history of" books out there, as far as websites go, I have quite a bit of factory info at my disposal, so I have as strong a need. wikipidia believe it or not is a good start, despite some of the errors.
