Question Auto-x: can I do 245's on all corners?

I'm looking to get more aggressive in autocross and drop down to 18"s with stickier rubber. For better tire wear (despite negative camber, my outside fronts wear faster on my current 19" Pilot Super Sports) I was thinking of going with the same wheel/tires front and back, so I need some advice on whether this would work as a dedicated autocross setup.

Can I run 245/40/18 Hankook Z214's on OZ Alleggerita HLT's on all 4 corners on my 2006 Cayman S with PCCBs?

Would I have any negative handling characteristics caused by this setup?

Thanks

1. Does the class you run in allow the different size wheels/tires? Just something to consider.

2. You would have to ask someone who also autocrosses a Cayman for the right answer, but basically you would be increasing oversteer. This can be positive as it will help the car rotate/change direction more quickly if it currently suffers from understeer. It can be negative as the car can become a lot more difficult to maintain control if it becomes too much oversteer. I know that for the NB Mazda Miata, having the same size wheel/tire in all four corners is perfect, but I am not familiar with the Cayman.

Pete, I can do just about anything I want, but I will shift classes. That isn't necessarily a bad thing, as I'm looking to get into a different class.

I'm getting a points for tire size (ex: 275 nets me 30 more points than 245) and points for DOT rating (1-40 is 80 points, 41-100 is 60 points).

Actually the best thing to do might be to figure out what equipment the best Cayman autocrossers out there are running Good luck

That's sort of what I was hoping to accomplish with this thread. The main issue is most Caymans don't have PCCBs.
