2012 Formula 1 Official German GP Banter Thread
Alrightie kids, it's that time of the week again, this time round the Hockenheim circuit.
McLaren needs to prove they're still in contention with the top dogs and have pinned their hopes on significant car updates to bring the team back to form. "New sidepods that will make the car look different" are part of the updates.
On the note of form, Massa has shown great form in the last 3 races and seems to be gaining more and more confidence in the F2012. He is quoted as, "targeting fifth place in the F1 standings this season", and is shooting for another podium this weekend.
Kimi is still looking for his first win in his first season back in F1, and the E20 has always been fast...just never soon enough in the race! Kimi said, "We've just ended up losing out at the start in the last two races for different reasons and if you put yourself in the wrong position unfortunately you cannot use your speed." Hopefully, he and Grojean can qualify higher up on the grid this weekend and really show off that speed. Kimi has scored the fastest or top 5 fastest lap in 5 of the last 9 races, so it's there for him, he just needs to put it all together.
Will we see another Maldonado-sanctioned hit?
Will one of the 5 German drivers (Vettel, Schumi, Hulkenberg, Rosberg, Glock) win on home turf?
Wet weather might play another big factor this weekend like it did in Silverstone, with the track looking to be wet for all of free practice and qualy. It's expected to be dry but cloudy on race Sunday.
Schedule (PST):
Practice 1 ---Fri 01:00
Practice 2 ---Fri 05:00
Practice 3 ---Sat 02:00
Qualifying ---Sat 05:00
Race ---Sun 05:00

I need to get on page 1 on fantasyracers! So Alonso + Kimi have to be on that bloody podium. I lost out huge for not joining sooner...missed the first 3 races for fantasy; I would've been in the top 10 for sure!
