"Look closely at the drivers' helmets this weekend and you should see something new. There's now a strip of bullet-proof carbon-fibre composite material called Zylon just above the visor. It's there to protect the weakest part of the crash helmet - where the visor meets the crown - which is where Felipe Massa was hit in his life-threatening accident in Hungary in 2009. The three helmet manufacturers Arai, Schuberth and Bell have been working with governing body the FIA to avoid Massa's kind of injury happening again and this is the result. But some drivers have complained that the strip interferes with their tear-offs and limits their vision - but if it's a regulation they all have to wear it."
