Watched my first F1 race.
I have to say, its very different than motorcycle racing. I watched last week's race in singapore in HD. That's the way to do it! Street course at night, just awesome.
Obviously the cars are wider on the same tracks so there is MUCH less passing. A pass takes a lot more set up and strategy instead of just extremely late braking and a block/accelerate on the way out. It isn't as balls out exciting as MotoGP but is something that can be watched on a lazy weekend with family, food served, etc... Kinda like a baseball game.
The cars themselves are incredible! The speed they carry around those courses is just ridiculous. Driving one must be extremely demanding, the concentration, reaction time and fitness to handle the G's.
All in all a fun time. I know the season is all but locked up by Vettel at this point so is it likely the rest of the races will be worth watching? Will there be some battles over the scraps or just cruising/testing for next year type of stuff?

I am not joking. I've seen F1 clips on sports shows and the Senna documentary but have never watched a full race till now. I grew up very near a track and watched indy, trans am and later ALMS as a kid before getting into motorcycles in my 20's.

Well you chose a good race to start off with, very cool to watch the night circuit in HD.. better late than never right? I have a hard time catching some of the races because of time zones sometimes but F1 is one of the only sports I can watch non-stop till the end without losing interest - along with all motorsports (except nascar and drag racing). I hope you caught the bug and that you'll watch more of it in the future!

There's not much passing in Singapore just because it's such a tight circuit with narrow track and walls, wait till you see the craziness at Monza / Spa / Canada etc.
Definitely worth watching -- nobody's going to be cruising in F1!
