The World Motorsport Council confirmed today that the date of the first Austin Formula One race will be Nov. 18, 2012.
The 2012 calendar was ratified by unanimous fax vote from World Motorsport Council members, the FIA said in a statement. The Austin race will be the second-to-last date of the season and will run back-to-back with the Brazilian Grand Prix on Nov. 25.
The 20-race 2012 season will start with the Australian Grand Prix on March 18.
In June, the World Motorsport Council set a provisional race date for Austin of June 17, 2012. But last month, F1 boss Bernie Ecclestone reportedly circulated a new calendar that moved the Austin date to November.
The council is a powerful arm of the Federation Internationale de l’Automobile, the international governing body of motor sports.

Remember, the calendar will not be set in stone until December.
I suspect that the organizers won't start selling tickets until then.
Also, hotels won't book more than 6 months out and the booking will be non-refundable.
I would wait until the calendar is finalized to make any moves.
Turkey has been dropped and they will likely scream about it. If they get put back on the calendar, everything changes.

Analzilla has dibs on the couch-bed. I have a pretty comfy chair and a good amount of floor space. I also have a car so I can pick people up from the airport and what not, so you don't have to worry about renting a car.
