Would be foolish of him to become lax. A champion will bury his competition until the end. Only Button's mother will remember he was second.

OT: this should be entertaining

I think it would benefit F1 greatly to see a Vettel DNF...I'd hate to wish that upon him but I wouldn't mind it. Perhaps Ricciardo won't see him in his mirrors at just the wrong spot during the race.

Unless the same driver wins race after race to catch him, it's going to be extremely difficult. Button, Hamilton, Webber, and Alonso are probably going to take points from each other throughout the season and cost each other a chance at catching Seb.

Like I said in another thread.

He needs THREE, yes three, DNFs or DNQs.

^ He needs three DNFs AND, AND, AND one of Fernando, Lewis, Jenson or Webber must win each of those three races.

Highly unlikely.

Theoretically, he can't be caught.

Haha hopefully, at least that would give him a possible excuse being his first race!

That's debatable. Sure it is unlikely, but you never know a bomb could be dropped on Red Bull's headquarters and development facilities, and they could be left trailing off the back of the pack!

Lets not forget that last year he had three DNF's, the most of any of the front runners (equal with Hamilton). So hopefully some of his inexperience comes to the surface in the next few rounds.
