On a serious note, cancel the rental car if you can. Its a waste...You wont need it at all bro.
If you really need to get around, taxi>all. If you want to explore montreal or whatever, you can take my daily...I dont touch it on the weekends anyways.

Montreal also has a very easy to understand bus and train system.
When you get off the plane, buy a bus and train pass for the entire week.
It is cheaper that way and much more convenient.
