Episode 2: CondorCGT Does Joliet
On the weekend of May 2nd an event was held at the Autobahn Country Club in Joliet, Illinois organized by Katech Performance Katech Engine Development - Corporate Services called "Track Attack 2008". This is their first annual event organized by the company for its customers and friends.
It was a very successful two day event which consisted of three groups depending on their experience on the track. All three groups had the chance to ride with instructors and pro drivers to offer them hints and tips on how to drive their cars safely and professionally around a race track.
During the event the participants had the chance to ride and get instructions from both the pro drivers and the instructors. Below are the names of all pro drivers and instructors present there.
The pro drivers consisted of Ron Fellows,About Ron Fellows
Second driver was Andy Pilgrim, Andy Pilgrim's Official Website
Third was Brian Kubinski.
And lastly yours truly Jaber bin Ali Alkhalifa, Jaber Bin Ali Al-Khalifa
The instructors consisted of Mike "Short-Throw" Newlander
Don "AutobahnRacer" Esbjornson
Dean "Kentz06" Conti
Frank "gonzalezfj" Gonzalez
Jason Harding (Katech)
Adam Boca
Pratt&Miller who brought their C6RS coupe and convertible, Pratt & Miller C6RS
to the event made a big impact on all the Corvette owners and others who were there. I personally took a ride with Ron Fellows around the race track and all that I can say was that I was very impressed with how the car handled and delivered its 600HP to the road. The brakes were great, the handling on the limit was perfect and I can only say that I would love to add this car to my small collection back home.
I would like to extend my thanks and appreciation to Katech for inviting me to this event hoping I can be a part of it next year too. There is nothing better than to drive, see, and listen to 600HP Z06's being driven around a race track, especially with a very relaxed family oriented atmosphere; I have personally made more friends during that event and I hope this event continues and grows to be successful as it is a great benefit to all.
Below are some of the pictures I and my wife have taken during the event, I should get more professional photographs later and shall post them once I have them. I hope you enjoy them.

Jaber, looks like a great event. I always have a great time when I go to the ACC. What were your impressions of the track? Next time give us Chicago Team Speeders a little advance warning and we'll give you a proper welcome.

icruze it was a lot of fun. The track was great our event was on the south circuit. Its a technical track and good fun I liked it. You have to stay on the correct line to not go off.
You know I was thinking about posting about me travailing to the Chicago area but as I was going to do some track work not much time will be spent with you all as I would have liked to. It was a rush going and a rush coming back but trust me we would love to see Chicago and what better then to meet you all there and enjoy good company
