Same deal with the C6.R, which carries ballasts as well.

BMW M3 GT has air restrictors as well - see the engine in the background of this shot with BMW's "trumpets."

I spoke with BMW Team RLL at length on the Friday night before the race and they acknowledge that the 458GT could be the car to beat - the Ferrari's are always fast. However, BMW has a pretty good team and damn good drivers. Excellent season to see an ALMS race

What's even more extraordinary about the people running the M3 GTR is that it is the SAME car that has been competing in these races and the 24 hour endurance races.

They have an engine setup for each style of racing with the restrictors and all.

The C6.R uses the old engine and not a ZR1 engine. The ZO6.R engine still makes too much horsepower.

There's two types.

The kind you see with the trumpets that will start out at the restricted size and eventually expand to meet the inlet on the intake manifold or throttle bodies.

Or the plate type, that is placed behind a single throttle body to restrict the flow.

Yes, I was reading it in Racecar Engineering. When they did the 24 Hours of Le Mans, different engine setup and AC. They made the car fit into every rule book with the minor engine mods and other stuff to make it fit.
