I don't think they're allowed such a big difference either. It's cool to see the other differences between the cars though.

My guess is that different focal lengths were used to take those photos so they distorted the proportions of the cars slightly.

It definitely looks like the fastest car on the grid due to its radical depature from other cars. But only time will tell...

I'm definitely looking forward to the start of the season.

AFAIK, wheelbase is variable within a max/min value. So it is possible. IIRC, Ferrari had a car a couple years ago with a much longer wheelbase than the rest of the grid. You give up "pointiness" for stability.

McLarens always look gorgeous. I'll be rooting for Jensen again this year (as long as he finishes behind Schumi).

Here is another interesting comparison between the MP4-25 and MP4-26.

For the novice, The MP4-25 - last year's car - is on the top with the Bridgestone tires.

No more F duct? Well at least that's one less thing to complain about.

This is one seriously hot looking ride for sure. I hope they are a contender with it this year.

No FDuct, no blown diffuser, no double diffuser.

Renault and McLaren are trying the blown diffuser on a bigger scale with the side frontal port exhaust.

I think it would be pretty radical to have KERS, blown diffusers, and adjustable rear wings on a car.

Did you guys catch this?

"What his new MP4-26 car will really look like when raced, despite being assembled piece by piece in front of the public on Friday, remained a closely-guarded secret.

The one on display had a fake engine, makeshift exhausts and last year's front wing.

Seasoned photographers realised immediately what was up. The fact McLaren made no attempt to stop them taking pictures of what should have been the most sensitive parts was a giveaway.

Hamilton smiled and said it was all part of the game. His body language suggested he knew what the team were hiding and he was relishing the prospect of putting it to good use.

"For us, with all the teams, you release a car and you hold back parts that you don't want people to see," he said.

"The sooner they see them, the more time they have to investigate and see if that works for them. So we all try to hold our cards close while still trying to move forward in the most efficient way."
