Talking LOL, Ferrari's next F1 car to be named F150

New Ferrari will be called the F150 | Formula 1 | Formula 1 news, live F1 | ESPN F1

Ferrari's 2011 Formula One car, set to be launched on Friday morning, will be called the F150.

The car, which will also complete is first few miles at Ferrari's Fiorano test track on Friday, is named in tribute of the 150th anniversary of Italian unification.

"Ferrari is an expression of Italian excellence, talent and creativity," said president Luca di Montezemolo. "All the men and women who put so much effort and passion into their work at Maranello share the pride and responsibility of representing our country around the world and it is in this spirit that we chose to dedicate this car to an event that is so important for the whole of Italy."

A statement issued by the team also said Giorgio Napolitano, the president of the Italian Republic, "took the opportunity to wish the Scuderia the best of luck for the forthcoming season" after being told of the 2011 car's name.

Until now, the codename for the 2011 project was 288.
The logo is in the link. Look's a lot like the Ford F150 logo lol.

They're going to have a tough time racing that unless they plan to just cut across all the sand traps. Doesn't look as aerodynamic as their previous cars either...

I found a picture of the testing mule before they put the sponsor logos on it:

Very innovative to go with a 4WD drivetrain for racing. Maybe it employs the system in the new Ferrari FF? Or maybe it's tied into KERS. I was also surprised to see the test car is being shown with 4 doors considering most F1 cars don't have any doors at all.

^ Nah. They can't trademark something that generic.

Also, trademarks are industry specific. Ford does not participate in F1.

International trademark enforcement is a bitch too.
