If your Dad can travel for the next Nurburgring 24hr then I think he should do it this way he will get to see the event and meet many team owners and see the cars as well. He can also meet the team I race with who are now running 2 cars this year. I also think he should try to get some lessons during his visit.

Thanks for the reply Jaber.
Iv'e been trying to get him up to the 'ring ( not a short flight for us! ) but he can't justify the time away for a trip like that without actual racing.
Not sure what his budget would be as we arn't fully sure as to the costs associated with the events. We don't wan't to be running up the front in a RSR, but we sure as heck don't want to be down the back running around in a little Polo GTi. He has raced BMW's and Porsches so he would prefer to jump into a BMW.
I want to try get there this year to drive it and to coincide with an event like a 24hr to do some scouting.

For the first few races you need to start in a car you can learn the track and learning how to drive it and stay on the road you know what I meant. The car I drive is only an E36 M3 in standard class and we are up there. In the last 24hr we finished 28th and second in class you can be in a better car but the cost will only be high and you can be down in the ranking. Its really important to learn the Nurburgring and anybody who race there will tell you that you have to do many laps.
Racing in other events around Europe is no problem but keep in mind Budget and license with a letter from your ASN before you even go there
