What Would a Modern F1 Car Lap The Ring In?

the Heidfeld BMW was set up with a special very high suspension for the Ring lap ..no modern car could do it in race trim. Also, the Ring surfaces are way too rough for a modern F1 car. If you track the Ring and then (say ) Spa..the surface roughness of the Ring seems just amazing. Even with the one-off set up they could not go into the Karrussel....

Taking any current F1 car around the ring would be like taking it around Sebring. It'd be a shower of carbon shrapnel after a few turns.

You'd need to build a special car specifically to do the ring. If someone did, probably somewhere in the 5's, though I don't think low 5's is likely even with a car developed to do it. Maybe with a ~1,200 hp turbo engine.

You've been on both Spa and the Nordschlief I take it?

About 120 laps NS but only 15 Spa. (M6, 997.1RS, 997.2RS)
