Vettel and Hamilton Both Avoid Penalties For Pit Lane Clash
#12
Maybe the Pit Lane events could have been avoided if the speed limit was lower? There seems to be different speed limit at each circuit. Either way I don't think either near-miss was a big deal, just racing IMO
However Brundle has a point with Jenson's unnecessary bunching of the pack. A bit too much IMO especially on the wet circuit. He should have at least received a slap like Lewis and Seb.

While I'm surprised Button, Hamilton, Vettel, Massa, and Alonso didn't receive any penalties (or more penalties, in Alonso's case), I'm glad they didn't. It would've just detracted from the racing.
Alonso was a bonehead for jumping the start and definitely deserved his stop and go penalty. I'm also not sure what the heck Button was thinking when he stopped so abruptly on the last corner when the safety car pitted. I think Hamilton and Vettel fighting at the pit entry was far more dangerous than watching them race side by side for the exit, but damn was it fun to watch!

For once, I'm glad that Lewis/Mclaren DIDN'T get a penalty, even though they obvious made an questionable move. Many times before they have been penalized for far less. It would be nice to hear the Mclaren "we-always-have-the-stewards-against-us" fans take on this?

whether from behind the wheel or a keyboard Brundle remains one of my favorites, hes 100% correct. IMHO, F1 is becoming dangerously desparate for action to the point where they allow things like this to happen as long as the outcome isn't as bad as it could be. Penalties would have been handed out generously in years past.

I definitely think they're making some of these decisions not to penalize in order to try and keep this kind of activity going all season. They're still trying to make up for all the "boring" press received from the Bahrain opener.
I'm definitely enjoying it, though. But, I also don't want to see anything go tragically wrong at the expense of TV ratings.
