Button Says His Confidence Remains Intact
This is pretty cold comfort for those of us who wasted 12 M for him in The League.
I am digusted with him. He is all talk until he gets me some real points.

if anyone quotes me on this i'll deny it to my deathbed, but i wont blame his performance 100% on his skill. I'll just say the,"the testing ban strikes again!". As fans we're being robbed of seeing drivers and cars at their best with practically no testing allowed.

The testing ban puts an emphasis on the driver's ability to communicate with the engineers and develop a car, separating the men (with experience) from the boys (with cash, maybe) in ways as yet unseen in F1.
I will say this: having an old dog like Schumi or Rubens on your team NOW means a lot more than it did a few years back. Experience on these tracks with a technically-minded driver can mean a half second or more advantage in setups ... I think.

Alonso seemed to cope with his new car?

I disagree - we're seeing drivers with technical heads on their shoulders work to develop the cars flourish, and drivers who are basically just "meat behind the wheel" of these cars flounder (Kimi, anyone?).

The Ferrari is overall a better package, not to take away from Alonso's superior skill as a well rounded driver.

It was Vettel's race.
But being in the right place at the right time is part of being a champion.
