F1 Poll: Can Jenson Button Edge Lewis Hamilton At McLaren?
#13
You got to remember that in china he was told to stay out on those bad tires and in Brazil he was just over aggresive(fearless) at the start then had gearbox issues. The only people we should be comparing Lewis to are TRUE winners e.g. Alonso, Massa, Vettel, etc.

agreed to a point Button is a great driver but the manner in which he won the championship leads me like most to believe that without the car and Brawn he couldn't have pulled it off. He is the smoothest driver on the grid today he has the least corrections compared with the rest but still he doesn't have that Killer edge that other Champions have and some current drivers have it most notably Massa and Vettel. And I cant help but cheer on Kobayashi he's a killer if I ever seen one and I see a championship in his future

I vote that those words in any combination be banned from Teamspeed
and yes Kobayashi drives with the gusto of a vet on the grid, i'd love to see him in a fast car b/c I could picture him going wheel to wheel with any1

I would love to "choke" and still end up 2nd as a rookie and tied with the 2 time defending champ in the same car as me

You should watch some of the the telemetry of how he drives, and then watch Hamilton's telemetry as well not smooth at all.
Button won because he has the best car for the 1st 7 races of last season.

Smooth drivers have to make corrections as well. To get that last tenth from the car, you need to throw it around a little, but not so much that you're unable to bring it back. Button looks smooth because he always leaves just a little on the table, which suggests a very slight lack of confidence in his car control, which you don't see from Alonso, Hamilton, Schumacher, and you certainly didn't see from Senna.
Also, last season, Lewis was getting as much as he could from a truculent car. His driving was sublime, but the car wasn't up to it.
I'm hugely excited for Lewis to see him go toe-to-toe with Michael. I hope their cars are about equal, and that the Michael we get is as sharp as the one we had, so we can really see how they stack up.
