^With the intension of doing the BMW CCA parade lap, it probably wouldn't go over well if I show up in my pop's PeppaGTS.

This sh*t is killing me right now...

Petit Le Mans Set to Dazzle Sports Car Racing Fans—Rain or Shine!Weather Provisions Being Made at Road Atlanta
to Ensure a Great Fan Viewing Experience
BRASELTON, GA, September 21st, 2009 – The 12th Annual Petit Le Mans Powered by Mazda6, at Road Atlanta this Wednesday through Saturday, is arguably the most anticipated North American endurance race in a generation. Despite all the rain in the Metro Atlanta area recently, the Road Atlanta facility is well prepared to host thousands of fans and the race cars are ready to dazzle the crowd—rain or shine.
“The race will occur rain or shine, in fact the American Le Mans Series cars are spectacular in the rain – going faster than most race cars run in dry conditions,” said Road Atlanta President Geoff Lee. “Also, the changing track conditions create all sorts of excitement and thrills for drivers and fans”.

Come one man, now you're killing me with this stuff. You don't cancel an event like this unless something really serious happens. Visualize my knocking on wood

Wonder how much standing water can accumulate below the esses? They can't run the race if the track is flooded, no matter how much they want to.

I talked to my ex (goes to UGA; Athens is not too far away) today and she said that Clarke county (Athens) and Hall county (Gainesville, Braselton, etc.) had received less rain than Cobb and Gwinnett counties (nothern 'burbs) - ie, no flooding yet - but that they were expecting it to rain through the weekend there, too.

Good luck guys!

This rain is crazy! We are still going as planned, crab boil, grill, tents, etc.

edit: There have been floodings and closings in the entire metro area, from the north west to south east. My daughter's school called 30 minutes ago to say school is closed tomorrow. It took my gf 3 1/2 hrs to drive from Crawford Long to Conyers this afternoon.

I'm an eternal pessimist! I hope your M3 has a roof rack for a canoe or kayak.

A buddy of mine is driving his E90 M down from NY mainly for Octoberfest, but he will be coming to the Petit also.

Looks like I'll be joining in on the party!

Got an invite from a friend this morning to crash at his place for the race. Should be booking my tickets tomorrow and flying out on Thursday night!

Gotta love impromptu trips out of state to hangout and party with fellow crazed car enthusiasts!

Who is ready to have a hell of a good time this weekend?!
