I really don't like the sound of any of this.

Ask the Indy 500 how the "break away series" idea worked.....

Me either. I mean, I'm sure the teams will be happy if they don't have to deal with Bernie or Max, but who do they expect to sanction the series if the FIA isn't involved? Without any sort of sanctioning body to recognize the new series, what's the point? I can see how the teams think this is a great idea and they want to "stick it to the man" or whatever but this will be the end of F1 entirely if these teams leave for any extended period of time. F1 will crumble without any headlining teams such as Ferrari, McLaren, BMW, et al. and this new league won't last longer than a season or two because nobody will know whether to watch the old teams in a completely different series or watch F1. I'm really, really worried about the implications of all of this.

I just wish Speed would show Touring Cars races from Europe (BTCC, DTM, WTCC) and FIA GT...

Massa's future can only be better with a break away championship because Ferrari would most likely give him the boot after 09 anyway. I don't like this collapse talk, though. 2010 could be a very bizarre F1 year.

Neither am I, but it's a different arena when dealing with pro sports. Imagine the MLB just announced that there would a salary cap next year, what do you think the Yanks would do?

Also, Over_Under I don't think Ferrari is planning on giving Massa the boot after this year. This is the second year in a row he is outperforming the #1 and with Kimi on the verge of retirement I really don't think they are going go all rookies. He still has a championship to win.

Edit: Dana you flip-flop more than John Kerry haha.

I would be very surprised if Massa goes anywhere. IMHO no doubt he will be there next year..

Kimi who knows.. I could care and actually hope he is gone. If he is winning races I will put up with his personality, if not, YUK.. He may be a nice guy, but he has a personality like a stone... more BORING every time I hear him talk...

But it may not matter next year... What will F1 even consist of? Who knows at this point in time.

What a shame to sit back and have to watch this great circuit with all it's history being torn apart... It saddens me...
