The MORGAN GT3!!!
I was searching race results for the Audi R8 LMS competing last weekend at Silverstone FIA GT3 races. The Audi R8's are doing spectacularly, finishing a 2nd and 3rd and a 2nd, all in their very first races.
But what shocked me was the car that was finishing 1st in all of the GT3 races. Its not a Porsche, Ferrari, or Aston Martin,.. but its the AutoGT Racing Morgan Super Sport!!!
If it was anywhere near April 1, I would be certain that someone was playing an April 1 joke on everyone. I love the ultra retro body shape of that Morgan. But when compared it to all of those sleek ultra modern Porsches, Ferraris and Audis blasting down the straight, the Morgan looks absolutely classically comical! I would expect Peter Sellers to jump out of that Morgan at the victory area, wearing a bowler and twirling a cane! LOL
What a great story!

“Dimitri Enjalbert and Johan-Boris Scheier celebrated the maiden win for the AutoGT Racing Morgan Super Sport in the opening round of the FIA GT3 European Championship at Silverstone. Starting from pole position Enjelbert briefly lost the lead but bounced back to hold the advantage until Scheier came under pressure late in the race from the Phoenix Racing Audi R8 LMS of Christopher Haase. The German swept into the lead on lap 22, but a technical problem forced the Audi into the pits to retire, promoting Scheier back into the lead, which he held until the flag.” - quoted from the FIA GT3 site

That's absolutely wild! I love those Morgan Aero 8's! I saw and older version of the GT3 car last summer at a vintage race at Road America. Not sure on the specs of that one, but it was definitely pretty cool.
