Ben Sulayem (or Mohammed bin Sulayem), the UAE championship rally driver hailing from Dubai, was involved in a high-speed crash earlier today at the Dubai Autodrome. Sulayem was racing a Ford GT in the Renault R28 F1 car ahead of the Renault F1 Roadshow this weekend and lost control, shunting the multi-million dollar racer into a wall. According to reports from the ground, the Renault was spinning its tires down the straight when it finally regained traction, causing an uneven transfer of grip and pulling the car to the right – narrowly avoiding the Ford – before it crashed into the pit wall. Sulayem walked away from the crash uninjured and the Renault is currently undergoing repairs.

Met him some years back when they had the rally championship in Bahrain. Very nice guy.

ouch that sucks......F1 cars are amazing yet so dangerous
