Why Did Todt Suddenly Quit Ferrari?

Anyone have any insight on this story: autosport.com - F1 News: Todt leaves all Ferrari posts

Note that it does not say why he quit. Interesting development considering the new season starts in one week. Could Ferrari's F1 unit be facing challenges that Todt is not up to dealing with at this point in his career? The article doesn't say BOO about what he's going to do etc. No quotes from him, nothing. Anyone with details out there?

Todt was pretty much out of the picture since last season.... I'm not sure but I think he fell out with Luca

+1. That's what I recall hearing as well. Something about Luca being very controlling and undermining some of Todt's authority with regards to the F1 team so he basically jumped ship and let Luca deal with it.

Last year he stepped down from team principal, but he stayed on throughout the season in an advisory roll. He didn't attend every GP either. Maybe, with Schumi going out, he was viewed as part of the "old regime" and Luca came in with Kimi looking for a fresh start of his own. I thought it was telling that the Autosport's article was absolutely silent regarding Todt's perspective. I'm always suspect with journalistic imbalance on something like that. Anyhow, Jean Todt is French, which is probably the issue right?

Guys, just to let you know - Over Under is one of my closest friends. He knows a lot about F1 and should be a fun and educational edition to the forum - especially on F1 topics.

Welcome brother!

So does that mean he's a McFan as well? We need more to even out with all the new Tifosi around here!

Ha! I wish. He has no love for Ferrari though. He is more of a BMW guy.

If you're not a Tifosi, you're a McFan.
