The current dominant force at the Le Mans race has just released the first picture of its newest competitor. The Audi R15 TDI differs from the R10 TDI which reigned supreme and virtually unchallenged in 2006 and 2007. The first race scheduled for the new challenger is the 12-hour race at Sebring in Florida on the 21st of March. This is where it will become apparent whether the first completed tests of the prototypes were successful or if more involving work still needs to be done.

Head of Audi Motorsport Dr. Wolfgang Ullrich said: "So far the R15 TDI has performed as we expected. Now it must also prove itself in race conditions. Sebring is a particularly hard race and is therefore perfectly suited to reveal even the smallest of weaknesses." The Audi team has had good runs at Sebring. It claimed a podium at its first race there back in 1999 and the won the race in 2000.
