Bernie is an old fart

Formula One should do more to exploit the power of the internet, according to FIA President Max Mosley.

The sport's commercial rights holder is headed by 78-year-old Chief Executive Bernie Ecclestone, who is known for his uncertainty about the online phenomenon.

Internet-only journalists, for example, are not granted media accreditation, and fans often observe that the official F1 website does not embrace the full power of the internet.

"Bernie is sceptical about the internet, there is no doubt about it," Mosley, 68, is quoted as saying in the German press.

"But if we could overcome that there are great things that could be done because the potential is enormous," Mosley said.

"I would revolutionise the way we use the internet; it is the great neglected area of F1," he said.

Mosley raises the prospect of providing full fan access to pitwall computer information, and multi-channel online coverage with live video of the paddock, the public areas of the motor homes, and the pit garages.

"It would put the audience right in the middle of the action," he said.

there needs to be a new rule: If you have to get up more than 5 times a night to take a piss you are too old to run F1.

I sincerely believe F1 would be in a much better position if those two nitwits were not in charge...

Oh man, can you imagine having access to the pit wall feeds, other cams, etc. during those races??

That is absolutely a step in the right direction for the sport. Especially when here in the US we're typically limited to the commentary of a feed we have no control over.

Bernie still probably watches the races in black and white...

I agree with Bernie on this one. This whole "Internet" thing is just a fad.

It will pass and we will all go back to using our transistor radios.

Yeah how sick would it be to choose your own camera views. And commentators ( the US guys suck balls, Brundles commentary team is the best )

I have always said that commentators should have some control over the camera angles. Be alot more interesting to get their view points on specific things ( like a lap in the car ).

It would be pretty cool if your viewing could become more interactive. I like those KangarooTV's that you can rent at the track. You can switch camera's and team cars and whatnot as well as check the standings whenever you want.
