Race for Ferrari, Mosley tells Hamilton
Lewis Hamilton should not rule out one day switching from McLaren in order to race in Formula One with the famous Ferrari team. That is the advice to the 23-year-old British driver of FIA President Max Mosley.
Hamilton, F1's new reigning world champion, has stated his total commitment to Mercedes-powered McLaren, explaining that he can imagine always driving for the team.
"If I were Hamilton I would be happy to be at McLaren and I would be happy to move to Ferrari (in the future),” Mosley said.
The 68-year-old Briton said he has no idea how Hamilton's career will actually pan out, but believes most drivers harbour an ambition to drive for the sport's oldest and most famous team.
Mosley mentioned his friend Gerhard Berger, who spent two separate spells at Ferrari in both the 80s and 90s, and also drove for McLaren, as recalling ‘no better feeling’ than ‘winning at Monza in a Ferrari’.
Max Mosley admitted: "If I was a racing driver I would want to have driven a Ferrari for at least one season."

I'm with Tommy on this one. Isn't it a huge conflict of interest for the President of FIA to be undermining the contracts of the teams paying his organization to compete in the first place? I think he's very much in the wrong on this one.

So you no longer give advice? We sure will miss you around these parts....

Just goes to show you how much the FIA swings off of Ferrari's nuts.
Hamilton should stay with McLaren, they've been grooming him for way to long.
Plus they have been brainwashing him since he was karting to destroy all things Ferrari

It's been shown that both Bernie and Max are completely in love with Ferrari. It does seem very strange to me that they are so incredibly biased for the red cars in so many aspects ranging from rule making (look at all the penalties Hamilton got as a result of pressure from Ferrari) to extra money (Ferrari gets an $80M+ bonus over any other team when they win a WCC). It's absolutely despicable, imo.
Anyway, I can see Max's viewpoint about how many young drivers dream of one day driving for Ferrari, but I don't think Hamilton has ever had the desire to drive for the red team given how well he is treated at McLaren. He won the WDC with them after finishing 2nd in standings the year before (and his first year in F1) so he obviously has a great relationship with the team. If McLaren wasn't putting in the effort to help him perform at 110% of his abilities, I could understand if his eyes started wandering towards Ferrari's garage, but I really do believe Hamilton and McLaren have a wonderful, symbiotic relationship that will continue for a long time to come.
