Who here knows how to become a racer and or driving instructor?

Who actually has done this? One of my passions is driving and it would be nice to know what angles there are to become a performance driving instructor and or racing driver.

I figure I'd first have to spend some of my own hard earned money on a professional racing school and work my way up at local events.
-Karts?
-PCA experience, autocross, DE driving.
...then fit into an instructors position after doing a few years of that low level driving. Become DE instructor...

Really I'm not so sure. But I do love driving and I'm a decent teacher. However I have no racing experience (only karts). So for people to see me as an instructor I need a shit ton of experience. I dont have track experience with cars but I do know what I'd guess is intermediate car control. I understand the dynamics of driving ie. weight, momentum, traction, torque, power band, when to shift...etc etc...

So any ideas or advice?

What would you do and how would you climb to the top while starting from sqaure 1?

From today, to be a racing instructor, you'll be one in about 15 years.

To become a D.E. Instructor, all you have to have is a lot of track time.

To become a Race Instructor, you have to have experience in racing. (Not just club racing)

You can make a small fortune being a driving instructor too. Just start with a big one.
