The new system with gold, silver and bronze sure sounds interesting. But I think that you have to get some sort of reward for consistency (sp?).

i vote for the new system !

or they should put a big difference between the first place and the second, like :

10 - first
5 or 4 for the second
2 or 1 for the third

just my 2 cents !

I like the current system, in that it rewards a few points for finishing well to teams that badly need them. But I also like the idea of increasing the gap bewteen first and second, so that the top drivers / teams have more incentive to go for wins. Maybe bump the winning total to 12 or 15?

Race wins should be heavily favored over everything else, including consistency. It's the only way to ensure that the drivers will be going for it EVERY time. None of this "4th is good enough business" when the gap between a 1st place and 2nd place finish is larger.

I really think they should keep the system the same because of how interesting the last two seasons have been points wise. The only logical way to change it imo, would be to give an extra point for pole position and for fastest lap.

+1 a bigger gap between 1st and 2nd will ensure drivers don't settle for second and keep racing till the checkered flag
