I think the size/quality of the sensor and processor rank much higher than the zoom...

Yeah but why would I buy something more expensive than mine 3 years later when it's almost the same. One of the good things of a P&S for me is that you can keep in the pocket of your trousers, I can't do that with this camera.

I like the idea of an easy camera with a old/new look easy to use but I wouldn't buy it over anything right now.

I agree...It'd be a P&S for the pocket and then a DSLR on the other end of the spectrum for me. However, I have no idea why I picked up a Canon G12 which is about the same size as the X10. I never use it.

I've got three pre-orders in for this camera but it still hasn't shipped. Seems to be sold out till mid-December. A very successful product launch it seems.
