3-D without the glasses: Try it!

Sorry if there's a thread about this, but searching for 3D just doesn't work

I've been playing around with this stereoscopic effect a little bit, and I think it's a lot of fun. I'd like to see what some of you guys come up with who are much better photographers than I. Please post up some shots!

If you are familiar with the Magic Eye concept, it's kind of the same thing. Also the old "3-D" viewmasters.

Basically you're taking 2 identical photos, but from different angles mimicking the human eye separation to create depth. Then put them side by side in photoshop. You may need to go back and forth with which one is on the left and right. I think you put the right-most shot on the left, and left-most on the right.

The tricky part is viewing the image. A lot of people just can't get it. You've got to really force your eyes to focus unnaturally.

Here's a quick video to kind of explain how you need to focus to get it:

YouTube - 3D without glasses, Cross-Eye HD

And here's my first shot:

This is what 3D pictures should be used for! Most of these cannot be posted here...

It works. Took a minute or so, and it was on my phone too, but the 3D is there.

That's pretty crazy. It did seem like it was a bit more clearer.
