How reliable is a refurbished SLR?
I have a friend who's hooked on getting a refurbished Canon EOS Digital Rebel XSi, but is a little worried about reliability. The camera he wants is refurbished by a pro.
Has anybody had any experience with refurbished cameras?

Ricky,
My ex-gf bought a refurb'd Nikon through Amazon that was worked on by Nikon themselves. No noticeable flaws with the camera whatsoever. I used it for a few months while I lived in Miami. Also came with Nikon's 1-yr warranty which was a plus. Refurb'd cameras may come with surface scratches, etc but should be mechanically sound.
Hope that helps

I've bought several refurb'ed Nikon SLRs over the years and never had a problem with any of them. Is the camera being refurbished by Canon or at an authorized Canon shop? I'd think that'd be pretty important.

Thanks, everyone, for the help!
He's going to buy it through an authorized refurbisher that's a friend of his father's.
