Got my Nikon today!

Got my new Nikon D700 today. Had a look at the D3s and it was a bit too chunky for me to want to haul around. The D700 has most of the functionality just smaller. I will never use more than 5 megapixels anyways as my hard drives would fill up too quickly.

All in all I am very happy, just need to buy new lenses all over again as my previous camera was a Canon. Need to get used to the new interface as well.

Post pics a little later.

This should make your picture threads more appealing. Which car will you shoot first?

Suggestion: Get the 85 1.4. Stellar lens for portraiture and automotive shots.

Nice, Mike! Looking forward to some more crisp pictures of your garage now when the new acquisitions have been made.

Hope it works better than mine, had all sorts of quality issues, finally ditched it for a Canon

Congrats on the purchase, Mike! I was looking at the D700 for my next camera purchase so I'll be interested in hearing your perspective on it.

As Felix said, the 85 f/1.4 is incredible. I would also recommend the 24-70 as a fantastic walk-around lens for the FF sensor. Enjoy it and I'll be looking forward to seeing the pics soon!
