BTW, I'm relatively new to Flickr but does anyone know how to make private galleries that can't be seen by anyone who looks at my Flickr page? It's a piece of cake to set up in Picasa and I can even make the galleries password encrypted but I haven't been able to figure out how to do it with Flickr yet.

For those of you who use flickr, how is the uploading and file management interface? There are no methods for upload via FTP are there?

I've been using villagephotos.com. Is Flickr better?

has yahoo even put an effort into improving flickr in the last 3yrs...such a tremendous amount opp there with the community that's been built. Disappointing, even though it is one of the best options aside from developing and hosting your own which is what ive been working on...

go to ORGANIZE, and you can select sets, or individual pics, and then click on Permissions. From there, you can choose ALL, FRIENDS, or FAMILY. Sadly, I dont think there is a way to set passwords.

I have only been using flickrpro for a short time, but I dont beleive there is a FTP option. The uploading isnt bad, just a simple dialog box which you can choose multiple pics at a time, although I dont think you can choose folders for upload.

Flickr has a free uploader program that works great- drag-and-drop, re-order, etc. After they're uploaded, the organizer is an easy enough way to do batch processing.
