the ISO was on 200, the lowest my camera goes to (its main limitation, really wish it went down to 100)

as for the formula, I just worked it out using some test shots. played around on 3200ISO till I got a reasonable light level, then worked it out from there- looked about right at 15 seconds on 3200, so-
3200/15s
1600/30s
800/1m
400/2m
200/4m

Like I said, ideally I'd have done it for 8m on 100, but maybe another day when I have a better camera
