I hope Choke chimes in, because he'll know as well. Basically Schwarzkopf was this old-school, big armor, lots of troops general who mistrusted and disliked special operations forces (yet was willing to let them guard him), grudgingly allowed the Marines to retake Kuwait, and was an all-around dickhead. There are countless stories of him biting the heads off of his staff during routine meetings. When the spec ops guys would show him plans that would definitively end the war (and likely top Saddam), he would dismiss them as cowboys.

History and the general public liked him because he was "Stormin' Norman" or "The Bear", but when I see him, I see a big, fat, anachronistic, douchy asshole. I am not sure if there are any wiki pages on him, but look for some of the stuff from people who were there. I know tons of spec ops dudes who were there and filled me in...
