Hey guys,

I just wanted to let everyone know that I won the grand prize in a photography contest for the first time! A local coffee house (Dunn Brothers in Eden Prairie, MN) was holding a contest through Dec 1st and whoever submitted the best picture would get their work framed in the store and would also receive a $100 gift card to use there! I don't really like coffee, but I'm thrilled to have won! Here's my winning picture:



This is only the 2nd photography contest I've entered, and I won 2nd place out of over 4000 entries in an international photography contest with this same picture a couple of years ago. The funniest thing about this picture is that I took this about 8 months before I even got my first DSLR. It was taken with a Canon Powershot SD400! Just goes to show you that you don't need great gear to be a decent photographer...

By the way, I don't like coffee so if there are any MN members that want a free cup of joe, PM me and we can meet up for some coffee on me.

Thanks guys! The best thing about this pic is that it is straight out of the camera. No post work done whatsoever, and it was taken with a crappy P&S to boot! I'm starting to wonder if I really need my D200 after all...
