The R8 is a fantastic car, but weight, weight, weight, ... has always been the R8 problem.

R8 e-tron performance sounds good: 462 hp (2x 170kW/320lbs) 640lbs / 920Nm
Regarding the weight is clear, only the battery pack adds 597 kg / 1316 lb battery weight.

I'm not sure if a E-tron version is going to be a good idea or even sell. Considering the price think people are more likely to look at the Telsa S which I think will be cheaper.
If people like the look of the R8 and can afford it they more likely to purchase the V10 and forget the electric version.
