Audi announced today that its new 2.0 TFSI engine is now available for the Audi A5. The new A5 2.0 TFSI can be ordered now with front-wheel-drive or quattro all-wheel-drive starting at £28,760 ($56,806) or £30,285 ($59818) respectively. Deliveries will begin in August.

The 2.0 TFSI is a new turbo based on the 1.8 TFSI from the A4 and produces 208 horsepower with a peak torque of 258 lb-ft. 0-62 comes in 6.9 seconds with a top speed of 155mph. Combined fuel-economy is rated at 42.8mpg in the UK which is an outstanding 35.6mpg on U.S. shores. That’s about 10mpg less than the miles per gallon king, the Toyota Prius.

The new Audi A5 2.0 TFSI comes standard with xenon headlamps with LED strip daytime running lamps, 17-inch seven-spoke alloy wheels, 3-zone electronic climate control, a 10-speaker Concert CD audio system, full Milano leather upholstery and rear acoustic parking.
Any love for the U.S.? Who knows.

 

The new A3 will have the same engine and be much lighter...

It'll replace my wife's current A3 when it comes out.
