RS4 - NAV/CD changer question
On RS4 w IPOD hookup (no 6 disc changer) and NAV - will the DVD slot of the NAV play regular cd's or better yet MP3 cd's??
Or can someone explain to me about SD cards - I really know nothing about them??
Thanks in advance.....

The navigation unit WILL play a mp3 disc, however you won't be able to use the nav if the nav disc isn't inside. I'm assuming it will play a regular cd too.
Personally I play 99% of my music from SD cards (I have the 6 disc changer). One thing to watch for you must buy SD discs, not SDHC discs. They look identical but should be easily identifiable in the product name/description. SD discs can be up to 4gb I believe. You can only put a maximum of 512 songs on a card, any more and the nav will ignore them. The card must be formatted in windows format (fat32 I believe).
One thing to watch for is the nav will not play AAC files or copy protected files. So all iTunes purchases must be converted to mp3 and stripped of copy protection. There is software out there to do this, or you can do it manually by burning your music to CD and then re-importing it as mp3.
I find most ipod integration lacking in the features department (like displaying song names on the nav, or even switching to the next track) which is why I use the SD cards.
Hope that helps
