Zorro Strikes Again!!!!

More often than not, consumers make the mistake of choosing a paint protection film company purely by pricing, which increases the risk of having someone unskilled or inexperienced working on the vehicle.

In this instance, it is not our typical fix it application. The customer was actually just unaware of the options available to him and believed that the dealer chosen vendor is of high quality. When the owner of this beautiful 2012 R8 V10 came to us after having the poorly applied film, it was immediately apparent that there is likely some damage from razor cuts. This is where the project begins:

Film removal:
- full hood
- mirrors
- lights
- front bumper
- door edges
- door handles
- front wheel arches

Replacement with our Signature Full Vehicle Protection with Prestige's ClearGuardX

One of the biggest issue facing the consumer is that there is an assumption that all clear bra installers are the same. The manufacturers do not do enough to determine who the quality companies are and are mainly concerned with selling their brand of films. Hence, most just believe that as long as Company A is using Brand A, then choosing the cheaper company is the way to go. Unfortunately, skill and expertise WILL affect the end results because this is a highly skilled craft.

More razor cuts found on this brand new 2012 R8 V10 Coupe unfortunately:

The customer did not want to repaint his brand new $160,000 car, so he had us polish some to minimize the razor cuts, but most of them are primer deep. Doing your research is very important when it comes to letting someone work on your car. The owner of this R8 did what many of us would do and it is to trust that the dealership uses someone that they believe to be of high standards. Unfortunately, this is grossly not the case as dealerships are generally more tuned into their bottom line than to provide their clients the best they could find.

Pictures to come soon of our redo.

Our techs worked diligently to get this vehicle to spec so it can be driven without too much thought about the damage that was placed to this car by the dealer installed clear bra.

A few notes on how to find a quality paint protection film installer:

1. pay less attention to certification and more on experience - how long has the business / installer been installing?
2. check on the internet forums for reviews.
3. take a look at the work in person if possible
4. do not take price into the equation if at all possible. Expect the inexperienced installers to utilize competitive pricing to gain experience
5. is the company insured
