Spy Video: Audi RS6 Avant at the Nürburgring

The Audi RS6 Avant is one of the strangest and yet most desirable performance cars out there, offering the option of driving a weeks worth of groceries in the back of its estate body at speeds that rival our favorite supercars. Now that a new generation A6's have hit the road, it was only a matter of time before Audi engineers got to show off there know-how and muster up spectacular S and RS6 variants.

The heart of this new Avant is likely to come in the form of a downsized 4.0-litre V8, (yes the same unit that will be shared with Bentley) will rate in at somewhere between 550 and 600 hp, thanks to a pair of turbochargers in the RS6’s configuration. This unit will also see action in various forms of the A4, as well as the S7.

This is a finished prototype of the RS you’re looking at. The cosmetic changes over the standard Avant also include aggressive bodywork and 20 inch wheels. Audi Drive Select and a torque vectoring rear differential will almost certainly come into play as standard features.

The RS Avants will always be my favorite Audi's. Nothing like folding down the seats and taking a nap in your supercar

sad that these will never make it to the US

 

more like frustrating... I think if audi keeps increasing sales in the US you will start to see more and more of what the rest of the world can buy. TTRS is here. RS5 is coming. a few years ago you would have never seen either of them.
